How can I fix this?

(I am not interested in a different widget, I have a habit of using Mac's and I'd like not to change it, thanks!)

I understand from your post that when you click on the Dictionary feature on your Mac that nothing happens. Until then, this widget can be used to quickly translate the values from the American System to the Metric System — or vise-versa! Thousands more are available at the Apple website. Mac Dashboard Widgets; These thesaurus, weather, language translator, stock market quotes, converter, calculator and notepad are examples of widgets on the Mac (see Mac Dashboard).
Toggle the widget from Dictionary mode to Thesaurus mode, and the same trick works—here it will show you a list of other words in the thesaurus that are similar to the chosen word. The voice is clear enough to be relavent to me (English) althugh the whole thing is clearly a US thing, which is something you accept.
:-) Introduced with Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger), the Mac comes with several Dashboard widgets such as a dictionary, stock ticker, language translator and currency/measurement converter. I like to use the thesaurus and want that back.



In response to Alwayswantingtohelp1 The interface is simple and unconfusing with the logo, a text entry box and a display window.

A simple test - entering colour in shows that words like this are included as 'british variant's' (!!)

You may want to check the Dictionary preferences.This article has more information about the Look up feature which you may find helpful: If you still see a blank screen when using the Look up feature restart your Mac into safe mode and test it again.
